Franco Marinai BETWEEN THE CORNERS OF MY BED 3 to 26 November 2022

PigPrints is pleased to exhibit a selection of 25 photogravures from BETWEEN THE CORNERS OF MY BED, a monumental artist’s book (also in the exhibition) with over one hundred etchings (80 photogravures) pulled by the artist in 2008 in his New York studio.

Franco Marinai is a well known master printmaker in the field of photogravure, an old and complex technique employed to transfer a photographic image on a copper plate and print it as an intaglio on an etching press.

One morning, after a restless night spent tossing and turning around BETWEEN THE CORNERS OF MY loft BED in the loft where I live on the Bowery in New York City, I realized that time/ life/ space are but light traveling into nothingness.

Franco Matticchio CARTE SCOPERTE 29 September to 23 October 2022

“Carte Scoperte” (“Exposed Cards”), is the first solo exhibition of works by Franco Matticchio at PigPrints’ Studio. This exhibition includes etchings made in collaboration with the artist during the past 12 years, plus some original drawings from private collections as well as directly from the artist’s studio
drawers.
