Welcome
PigPrints is an artist-run printmaking workspace based in Milan that provides professional-quality printmaking facilities to artists and printmakers of every skill level. With a specialty in intaglio print, we publish and exhibit original, limited-edition etchings and other works on paper by emerging as well as established contemporary artists.
In 2010, after working with etching for nearly two decades, I decided I wanted to involve other artists who might like this discipline and produce editions together with them. Franco Matticchio, who was (and still is) an exquisite artist and draughtsman who knew little or nothing about etching, made the first two plates. Many followed over the years. I called these editions, mostly small plates printed on cm 35×25 sheets, “Pig Prints”.
That would become the name of the studio when in 2020 it relocated to a new print workshop location and expanded its activities. Today PigPrints is open to international artist residencies. Printmakers from all over the world come to Milan all-year-round to work in our studio.
At the same time, we continue to invite artists to work with us and each year we produce 3-5 new collaborative editions. We hold workshops on request, open to all, beginners included.
PigPrints is open for visits by appointment. To arrange a visit, please contact us.
Thank you for your interest!
